Claims of outstanding fees

I had three Cell C contact of which one was cancelled in 2006. The second was cancelled in 2012. I recently requested to upgrade the remaining contract. I was informed to contact the legal department because the service provider in Centurion Mall could not access the contract.
I did so and was informed that there is outstanding fees of R1226.37 on the contract cancelled in 2006. They claimed that I was contacted numerous times and letter of demand was sent. Yet they have no proof of a registered letter sent to me informing of such outstanding fees.
The remaining contracts as upgraded twice and three times respectively and there was never any mention of outstanding fees. Now out of the blue, SEVEN YEARS later, I can not upgrade. I was informed to contact Mrs. Maiper on 011 324 8000, that did not work as I was transferred back to the legal department four times. I was then informed to contact Mrs Maiper on 084 777 7000 which was also unsuccessful. It seems that Cell C would rather get rid of loyal customers than assist them.
