No consistancy in story results in unhappiness

I brought my new and defective contract smart phone, contract not even 3 months old, in on Saturday. The gentleman said he could send it in for warrantee assessment, but he needed the booklet, which was the only item missing to make the original handset and accessories package complete.
When i came back today with the complete package, i was told that it couldn't be sent for a warrantee assessment, but for repairs. Not a huge issue, but annoying that the same branch had now changed it's tune and added an unnecessary trip to my busy life.

I then asked them if i could change back from the top-up package to the anytime package i used to be on. The lady said yes, no problem. She said I would pay roughly the same fixed amount, without any extra charges for migrating.
After a while she went to the back office and came back accompanied by another lady, and they changed their story once again. Now i could only do the migration after three months had expired on this contract, only next month, and i would be paying an additional monthly charge on top of the fees for the anytime contract.

Inconsistent stories lead to dissatisfaction and the impression you're being taken for a ride!
