Cant Receive SMSes Since 2010

I have been a loyal to Cell C since 2013 but this past week has got me frustrated.. Each time i call the call center no one seams to be able to assist me. Cant receive SMSes on my phone. Have tried changing phones did a sim swap all to no avail. It seems like every one i keep talking to does not have a solution.. On Sat 24 June I was asked for my email and they said they would contact me in 24 hours and until now.. (like seriously, did they mean 24 hours after 5 days) They keep telling me to dial #33*1234*16# and reboot for the past week. If this is a technical issue are there not supposed to have someone for that job.
I have a lot of contacts with number otherwise i am contemplating putting the sim in the BIN
