SLOW SLOW ADSL AND POOR SERVICE

I had a Telkom ADSL contract for the last 2 years.
I complained about the poor speed and poor service in 2011!! Since then I did not receive any response from Telkom. When my two year period expired this month - I gave a months notice to terminate the service so I could choose another service provider. The day before my cancellation - Telkom called me and offered me a discounted deal on an ADSL package. Then their staff themselves stated how they were shocked and in disbelief that Telkom did not get back to me in 2011. Apparently it was recorded on their system that I had logged a technical fault. After apologizing - they said if I take the new deal - they will ensure that a technician comes to check the problem with my ADSL. I am getting speeds of 0.3 Mbps!!! They then deferred my termination request and updated the new deal - AND GUESS WHAT - NO ONE HAS COME TO CHECK THE FAULT! I told the call centre gentleman I only want the contract if my speeds are sorted out! I want this cancelled now!! DO NOT ASK ME TO GIVE YOU ONE MONTHS NOTICE AGAIN and I REFUSE TO PAY TELKOM FOR A SERVICE I AM NOT GETTING!!!

Telkom sadly has a monopoly in South Africa - and we customers suffer!
