Cell C began an unsolicited text competition to my cellphone last month. At first I responded thinking it was harmless however within the first day I realised that I was being charged an exorbitant rate for my return texts, This was not clearly explained or shown in the beginning. According to the NCR (To which I am also making a complaint of prohibited conduct) I am permitted to get a full refund within 5 days to any transactions initiated via text message. In addition to this after answering correctly cell C responded with: "Wrong answer better luck next time" sometimes even before an answer had been given. This is a.
After contacting Cell C I received a response that they do not give refunds IN DIRECT ILLEGAL CONTRAVENTION OF THE NATIONAL CONSUMER ACT.
To add insult to injury Cell C continue to send me these messages in spite of having responded STOP and verbally requesting that they cease and desist.

I want a full refund of any billing related to this competition and I want them to erase me from their contact list for competitions and marketing.
