I have been receiving annoying smses about Cell-C's latest Big bucks competition. I replied to 14700 with STOP to opt out and received an sms welcoming me to the competition and a 2nd sms thanking me for taking part. I replied STOP again and received an sms telling me I had already opted out. Then I received another sms telling me to answer the latest question only.

Cell-C you seriously need to sort out your competition's IT dept, they are clearly massively stupid. When I opt out, DON'T send me smses welcoming me to the competition and DON'T send me replies about only answering the latest question. This is irritating and wastes my time. Don't make me guess as to whether or not I have been opted out. Send ONE sms and make it a confirmation sms to tell me that I have been opted out successfully. This isn't rocket science - what kind of incompetents do you have handling these things?
Perhaps you should speak to the project team that implemented this competition and explain to them about "reputational damage", spam and the consequences of irritating your customers.
