I upgraded on Saturday 15 June 2013, and had to do a sim-swop. Was told that it should be connected within 2 to 24 hours. After 3 hours, my old sim was disconnected, but the new one did not work yet. On Sunday 16 June I still was not connected and when I phoned customer service (from another phone), was told that the number has not been RICA'd since 2011! I went to the MTN store at The Grove on Sunday and the salesperson checked on the system and acknowledged that the number is Rica'd and made a call, after which he gave me a ref no. and I was told that the problem should be corrected within 24 hours. On Monday 17 June, I am still without a phone - went back to the Mtn store, where another salesperson tried to help. She told me more or less the same thing the first person told me. Also made a call and gave me a ref. no, and told me to wait ANOTHER! 24 hours. The ref no is pretty much useless, as I can't even get through to an operator!!!
I've been with MTN for 19 years now, and am very very disappointed! Really considering a move to Vodacom!!!
