8ta just doesn't do service

This is a follow-up from a previous bad service experience with an 8ta topup contract in Jan 2011. The only difference now is that I finally, hopefully after 2.5 years can get rid of them. Here's the complaint:
I've been struggling since Jan 2013 to cancel my contract with 8ta and to convert my number to a prepaid number. However, for some bizarre reason 8ta continues to push through debit orders every month (even though I challenge them each time) and load the airtime. The latest debit order (2 months' worth with bank charges) on the 14th of June for me is the last straw. I've been to my bank 4 times to reverse the debit order - 8ta just doesn't get the message. In my last phone call (14/6/2013) to 180 (so-called customer care), the agent actually confirmed that my contract was cancelled in Jan 2013. She was, however, unable to explain why the debit orders still goes off and why I still get airtime. They will again "look into it". I don't expect much feedback though. I honestly don't understand why 8ta would roll out such a dysfunctional cell phone network into the market and expect that they will somehow retain a market share. My advice: DON'T DO 8TA!
