IGNORED BY MTN CLAIMS DEPT - SHOCKING SERVICE

My phone was accidentally dropped and the screen smashed. I am insured through MTN direct. Despite paying for almost 2 years MTN are making is unbelievably difficult to make a claim - one might be led to thinking its a ploy to avoid paying out to customers??

It took 2 weeks of being passed around to the wrong people, and being kept on hold for periods of 30mins at a time, being hung up on (twice) as soon as I said I had a claim, before finally getting the claim logged.. The phone was collected and sent for assessment. An sms then was recv'd last week stating phone was out of warranty. True, but it wasn't when the accident happened nor when I first submitted the claim. It took a week of trying to get hold of the claims dept. NO ONE EVER ANSWERS!! Finally a general agent after 20mins of holding got a claims dept agent to speak to me (Cecelia). She said the claim was under warranty and she would inv me for the excess only. I am still waiting..

On Friday spoke to Gertrude (call ref: 100917370) - she was unable to contact claims dept but said her supervisor had gone to the dept and they would contact me by close of business. I am again still waiting...

and loosing my patience now.
