Cell C
Shocking Service from Cell C Again

Telecommunications

On 30/05/2013 I went into a Cell C store in Menlyn to sign a contract for a wireless router. The monthly charge for this is less than R150.00. On trying to sign this contract I was requested to supply 3 months bank statements, proof of residence and a salary advice. Additionally, I also provided them with a proof of employment letter. Cell C refused to sign me up stating that I do not have a credit history and that they needed to establish telephonic contact with my employer to confirm employment. This despite the fact that I provided them with an official letter with a Government stamp stating that I have been employed in government for the last 21 years. I received many calls from the Menlyn branch stating that there is a problem with the credit department and that they cannot confirm my employment. On 05/06/2013, Peter promised to call me with details of a contact person at credit. He never called me back. On 06/06/2013 I called the Menlyn store only to be told that Peter is on leave and nobody else can assist me. It has now been a full week and and matter is still unresolved. How can be be so difficult so sign such a basic contract. What a horrible experience.
