Sim Reader problem

What happened at my phone Capt on giving me a error that the Sim is not in correctly. I took the phone in to Vodacom they handheld everything i never fiddled with the phone myself, but when i took it in Vodacom told me the phone is beyond repair and is damaged. My phone is still under warranty and i can not understand why they say i psychical damaged the phone because the only people that worked on my phone was Vodacom. I am really dissatisfied with the service.
