Upgrade package details not updated in billing

I just recently updated my phone to a new MTN anytime 200 package after years on old package. Imagine my surprise when 2 month later you find out that even though you never went over the data package or used more then 200 minutes you are being charged with the calls and data on top of MTN collecting their full monthly R369.00.

I have lodged a complaint with MTN billing but after being a MTN customer since 1998 makes you wonder. Do they not check their systems when you upgrade or do I as the customer always need to spend my time making sure they are not ripping me off? I spend 100min talking on a 200 free min package and I am getting billed for calls 200 min, I use 60MB of data on a 150MB free package and I am getting billed for data usage. As long as they debit your account they do not care at all, unless my understanding of term free has changed.

So to all looking to upgrade be warned to check your bills carefully as MTN have no systems in place to review that your contract has been updated correctly.
