Due to my high cell phone bill, I decided to port to Cell C based on the recent TV adverts about Cell C having the lowest call rates and extremely good service - which is definitely not what I experienced.
Based on my conversation with Cell C employee on 27 April, I was advised to start the porting process - which meant discontinuing my contract with my former service provider and placing my number on prepaid which was done by 29 Apr. The Samsung S4 which I selected as my handset was to be available on 30 April and I was reassured I was placed on the waiting list and stock would be available by 01May. I phoned on the 30 April - I was told stock delivery was being made on 02 May. On phoning on the 02 May I was told that only 4 handsets were delivered. On visiting the store on 03 May, I was told all the units were issued to customers. Trying to explain that I stopped by contract and moved to the inconvenience of prepaid I was told there was nothing they would inform me if a customer didnt collect. Being in the store 05 May, I was told there was no stock expected till 09May.
What kind of ridiculous service is this from Cell C who are looking to be SA's number one cell network?
