Bad Equipment replaced with Worse Equipment

I am not sure if you remember the correspondence below (was emailed a week ago without a response). We have recently had new equipment delivered at VA Groenkloof. The problem is that the bars are very poor in quality. The chrome peeled off the bar within 2 days. The chrome was subsequently stripped off the bar and placed back in the weight training area. Surely this is not the right way to deal with the issue?

You have stated below that we will be receiving proper equipment this time around. The bars are not of Olympic quality as indicted in the correspondence below.

Would someone have maybe missed the correct instruction, or are we supposed to accept the sub-standard equipment provided.

It seems one has to escalate matters before receiving any response from Virgin Active.

Should one have to escalate the matter further to get proper equipment as promised. The response received from Chanelle was: "I have discussed your concerns with our National Equipment Manager and he has just informed me that an order for strenght equipment and he has now added a Decline Bench Press to this order as well as new stronger Olympic Bars.
