My Account Debited and I'm not yet A Membe

I am shocked, disappointed, and VERY angry. My friend and I went to the gym on the 16th to enquire. We spoke to Sipho who convinced us to join the gym. We filled in forms and he said we must come on the 25th to pay our membership fee. I asked him what would happen should we decide that we don't want to join anumore, he told us that nothing would happen, no money would be debited from our account. Ont the 25 we went to the gym to ask him to hold onto our forms something came up and we could not join the gym. He said it is fine, We had not paid the joining fee and have not received anything that shows that we are members of the gym. On the 1st of Feb a deduction went through on my account and when i went to enquire Sipho told me that there is nothing he can do and that i can take the matter out of the gym if i want. I cannot believe that a client could receive such treatment from this 'well respected gym'. I have not Paid a fee that shows that i am a member of the gym, do not have a membership card, No instructor or anything that shows that i am a member. Why on earth should they be deducting money from my account and telling me that i cant get it back?
