FORCED INTO A CONTRACT AFTER CANCELLATION

On the 29/05/2012 I signed a contract with Planet Fitness Durbanville & advised the consultants that I would let them know the following day whether I would like to continue entering into this contract & they agreed that I can do this. I called on the 30/05/2012 & advised them that I would like to cancel the contract. The consultant then changed the story & said that I would have to send in a letter to cancel the contract. I would like to stress the fact that the consultants who assisted me said that a call to cancel the contract would suffice. I sent the letter on the 13/06/2012 & yet still debit orders have been coming off my account & my Edgars account has still not been refunded. Only after calling for the third time was I made aware of a "cooling off period". I f i was aware of this i would have sent a letter of cancellation immediately. On the 12/12/2012 i called again & explained my situation & was advised they would send my query to head office which conveniently closed over the festive season. Once my complaint/query was received by the appropriate people it was blatantly dismissed by saying that I am in breach of contract. How am I in breach when I was to??
