Duped to sign contract under false information

When I signed up with the Gym Company in Winchester Hills, I was very hesitant about the contract period (3 years), because I'm an avid traveler and didn't know how long I would be in the country. I voiced my concern to the sales consultant who assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. The gym contracts are transferable, and if I couldn't find anyone to take over my contract THE GYM WOULD BE ABLE TO HELP ME FIND SOMEONE.

2 Years later, I am leaving the country and have spent the last 6 months doing everything in my power to find someone to take over my contract. In that time I have spoken to 2 sales consultants asking them to help me find someone else. I got confused looks from them and half-hearted commitments to actually helping me. It was only when I eventually spoke to the manager that he told me that it goes against company policy to help a client find someone to take over the contract. So I was to just so that I would sign the contract. I wouldn't have opened the contract unless I was certain I could transfer it. The manager was very patronizing, and pretty much said it's my word against his.

Now I have no other choice but to pay the exorbitant cancellation fee.
