Completely disgusted - what a rip off

A few years back i joined planet fitness in claremont, cape town. For my contract period i was quite happy.
Being a first timer to the gym contracts, that happiness didnt last long.
After my gym membership "finished", i stopped attending... simple... apparently not. A few months down the line i get a call from a collection agency saying i've been handed over to lawyers to pay the outstanding amount i owe.
so having now learnt that a membership needs to be stopped or else it automatically continues, i made arrangements with the collection agency to cancel my gym membership and arranged the payments per month.
I have been paying the collection agency for a few months now, only to recieve an email from planet fitness themselve stating i owe them almost R3000!
So currently im sitting with a bill from the collection agency and a bill from planet fitness.
Im absolutely disgusted with Planet Fitness and wouldnt recommend anyone going there unless to intend to stay a member for life, because thats the way their billing apparently works... you pay for the rest of your life.
