It was in November 2012 when i cancelled my membership with planet fitness because of my change in affordability after having a child as i wanted to join via vitality as it is much affordable, i received no response in this regard and i kept on following the matter via phone and emails. A lady finally got back to me (a month later), she was not sure of the procedure and she said is gonna call the head office and get back to me. The lady never got back to me, i had stopped going to gym, i chased the matter via emails without any luck. 15/7/2013 (this is almost 7 months later) i am called by a lady from credit collectors that my planet fitness account is in arrears, i explained my story to her. She called head office and head office are telling me to pay my arrears of a rough figure of about R3000, pay cancellation fee which 60% of my contract tenure and then open a new contract via vitality. I am so disappointed at how this was handled (they should have communicated this well & fast). My affordability has deteriorated badly hence i wanted to scale down, i am even under debt counselling and they expect me to pay such huge amounts yet i am struggling to keep up with basics.
