False Advertising at Virgin Active -VA Morningside

Hello Peter,

We enrolled our two children at VA Morningside for V-Kids in March 2013.
The sales person advised us of the VA special for the month of March where there is no joining fee (R110 each). He also advised we would receive our free gift bag for the kids. We submitted all documents then received the V-kids cards; which was captured on their system which confirmed our free joining; and we were on our way.

After a couple of visits we were then stopped at the reception and was told we need to pay the joining fee else our kids would not be allowed in the gym. We explained the initial VA offer to them but was advised: They 'had lost our file' and their system will not allow our kids in the gym "according to the Manager.

After explaining the initial offer (to no avail) we had no choice but to later pay the initial joining fee.

We have come to know that VA Morningside is allegedly a 'Discriminatory Club" in SA and wish to confirm this in not the case with our incident

We request VA Morningside:

1. To investigate my complaint.
2. Refund the joining fee which I was forced to pay.
3. Issue my kids with V-kids Gym bags as promised.
