Late (8years) account

Dear Sir/Mam

I hope you can advise me in the following. I joined Planet Fitness in 2005 but because I was a single mom at that stage I gave written notification in 2006. I left Pretoria in 2008 and lived in Cape Town thereafter. Planet Fitness never closed the account and never tried to contact me via mail or telephone or even mail to notify my that I had an outstanding account.

on 28 Aug 2012 (8 years later!!) I received a notification via cell phone that my account has been handed over (which at this stage is a huge amount! = about R 8800). They are also threatening me that they will hand me over to ITC. I really worked hard to clear my name of all debt..and STILL being a single mom just living under the breadline.

Can you please assist me as how to work with this.? I called the branch and try to settle his with them and that I gave notice (written) but they state that they have nothing on record. Pleeease help!!! /Advise!!
