Planet Fitness may ruin my future

The problem: when I was a member of Planet Fitness in 2006 (when I was 16), before the Centurion Gate gym was completed I was at the other Planet Fitness gym in Centurion. When I was transferred as per my contract to the Centurion Gate gym after its completion payment stopped going through as per the stop order (due to account not being transferred or some reason). I was unaware of this situation.
In 2010 I was called by JM Attorneys to settle the debt and we agreed upon a monthly payment to resolve this matter. In January 2013 when I called JM Attorneys they informed me that planet fitness had cancelled the account. I inquired if the account had been settled or had I over paid, they could not view the account as it had been closed. So I called Planet Fitness Centurion Gate many times and was told it would be sorted out as my balance shows I owe almost R8000 at the gym's accounts which is impossible as I had been paying since 2010. If this negligence on the part of the administrators of the accounts that leads/lead to me having an adverse credit rating or Blacklisting that will impinge on me seeking employmentt as I am a postgraduate student I will seek legal advise
