Contract Processed before we Authorised

My Husband and I went to enquire at Planet Fitness in Parklands about a contract at the gym to commence November/ December 2013. We pointed out to the sales representative that nothing is to be put through until we can confirm that the payment due to Discovery Vitality of -R800.00 for each of us, was complete, so that we will pay the vitality prices. This was not done as we went through a financial battle, and therefore assumed that the Contract wont be processed, because we did not tell the sales representative to do so.
In January 2014, We saw a payment of -R1200.00 deducted from my husbands bank account for the gym. When we contacted them to find out what had happened, they told us that the contract had been processed and we were then Liable to pay the full amount of premiums every month. We didn't even receive our membership cards or a copy of the contract, and we didn't authorise this either.
When contacting the gym to arrange to speak to a sales person in person and over the phone, we have had no response. We are still being charged for the membership and cannot afford the premiums or the membership and are now getting into debt! I am Appalled and will take this on!
