Hello Peter,

I had an account with Beares started 2009/04/28. My payment per month was R 206.29. i payed R210.00 every month. My last payement was 2011/06/10 of R210.00. The day when i made my last payment the cashier informed me that this account was payed up in full. I never recieved a settlement letter from them either. Only 13 months later i recieved a statement stating that i still ouw Bears R1160.40. I investigated this immediately only to find that by the time i made my last payment there was still R339.06 on the balance. Now Bears or African Bank want me to pay interest of 14 months which i think is not according to law and feare.
I never recieved a phone call or a letter or statement in that 13 months as i would have settled the account immediately. I am struggling from August last year to try and resolve this matter with Beares and African Bank with no sucsess. They keep on passing the buck and Beares Witbank does not want to get involved. please can you help?
