Bad Service - Pay for Insurance but cant claim

My aunt is an old lady who pays her cellphone insurance religiously! They broke into her place and the cellphone. She reported the cellphone and then went to Edgars to claim. According to Edgars she reported it to the police too late!!! She doesn't have transport and has other responsibilities too! She struggles to make ends meat at home... Honestly! I really feel for her. She was in tears when she asked me whether I can please assist as she doesn't know what to do! Her grandchild who is now in matric uses the phone and that's his only means of internet connection for assignments etc!

She is terrified and I feel the level of service she received is unacceptable! I am also an account holder and I'm actually shocked as this is not what I expected. Should she have when she reported it at the police station? Would that have been accepted by Edgars??? My aunt is still an honest person and doesn't believe in! Is this what honesty gets you??? I am shocked! Really!
