Pick 'n Pay Gift Card failure

After spending an hour shopping at the Pick 'n Pay store at Trade Route Mall. The cashier very nonchalantly says she cannot accept a R1000 in 'Pick 'n Pay' gift cards because the system is 'offline.' What's worse is that Pick ''n Pay has no fallback for when their system fails. I feel that management didn't do enough to try and correct the problem. A bag full of 'sorries' is all I left the store with. After spending R4500 at another Pick 'n Pay store just a week earlier, I am utterly disgusted. Imagine going into your own bank only to be told you cannot access your ownmoney because their systems are offline. It is scrapyard service to say the least and there is just no accountability.
