Pick 'n Pay
Not living up to Scan right guarantee

Shops, Products, Services

I am a firm believer that a company like PnP should live up to their guarantees.
Last night while shopping I walked past an Aim Microwave on display for R479.99. I took one, finished my shopping and went to the counter. When the item was rung up its price was R529.99, so I said to the checkout lady let me double check the price. I brought her the price tag for R479.99 with a barcode that was the same the one on the box. So she called a lady called Sizwe that told me that she would give me the item at the lower price. I asked her what about Scan right policy? She said very reluctantly she would give it to me for free. While we were walking out of PnP the floor manager stopped us with another price tag in his hand with the same barcode and told me that I will need to pay R479.99. I paid and left.

I was very disappointed that the staff at PnP were clearly not in favour of living up to the guarantee and I felt that the level of customer was not satisfactory at all! If in the event that there was two barcodes on the shelf for the microwave the Scan Right guarantee on the PnP website does not state anything about two barcodes being on the shelf affecting the guarantee.
