Hp Experience Store
Warranty not honoured - HP Printe

Shops, Products, Services

I purchased an HP Deskjet printer from the HP Experience store in Sandton City about a year ago. The printer has a 3 year warranty and at the time of purchasing it, I signed up for the loyalty card as well. Therefore, I expect that the details of the purchase should be on the system. I subsequently lost the receipt for the printer and, as luck would have it, it broke down earlier this year. I took the printer in on the 3rd of February. It took approximately six weeks for HP to get back to me (after several visits) to say that the printer needed to be repaired (duh!) but that I would have to authorise payment of over R1000 because I didn't have a receipt. This is ludicrous - firstly, the printer does cost much more than R1000 to buy new. But, secondly and more importantly, if I signed up for a loyalty card when buying the printer, how can these guys claim that they don't have any record of my purchasing the printer. This seems like an utter scan. Can someone help please.
