I went to the Checkers Hyper in Menlyn and bought an electric fry pan. There was a problem with the element and so we returned it. They tested it and realised it was faulty and said they would refund our money. However, we did not have the slip with us. They eventually said its fine and they will scan the product and refund us. When we received the amount, it was R20 less than what we paid. When we queried they said it was correct and we made a mistake. We called a manager Mxolisi, who basically pushed his weight around and shouted at us and was extremely rude. We got to the root of the problem, the lady behind the counter had made a mistake. There was no apology until I asked for one, and Mxolisi refused to oblige and walked away. Apparently the store manager had left for the day. There was nobody else competent enough to assist us. We provided out contact details for the store manager to call us, but we have still not received a call. It is now 2 weeks later! We were treated like 3rd class citizens by Mxolisi. He really needs to be trained on customer service. The cherry on the top was him talking about the CPA... that was a joke! He acted as if he knew the Act, but I also know it!
