I want a refund

On Wed 12 June 2013 I bought 2kg Ariel washing powder from Checkers Westgate. The was a big price on the shelve which said R29.99 next to the soap. I paid and left without checking the slip as it was late just before 6pm and I live in Randfontein. The next day I realised on the till slip that I was charged R52.99 for the washing powder, I called the store the next day and was told many people made that mistake but the price was actually referring to the 1kg so I asked if I can return de soap because m not willing to pay R52.99 and I was told I can return it at my nearest Checkers. On that very Thursday I returned it to Randfontein Checkers but was told they can't give me a refund I must go back to Westgate. Going back to Westgate is an extra cost for me and I can't understand why I'm not allowed a refund @ Randfontein because I have the till slip and I have not used the washing powder. This is not good customer service. That woman who is apparently the manager @ Randfontein clearly has no insight as how wo speak to customers.
