On Saturday morning I called the store and asked to be transferred the cosmetics counter as I would like to make an enquiry. I received a pamphlet with my statement that I could collect Elizabeth Arden Ceramide capsules and wanted to enquire whether they had any in stock as the previous Edgars store I had visited did no.
Lucinda answered and was very distasteful to begin with. Firstly not wanting to just give me a simple 'yes' or 'no' or 'I do not know' which would have sufficed, she proceeded to give a very lengthy explanation where she kept contradicting herself. When I pointed this out to her, she told me to be quiet and listen. Now seriously, I have never been handled so condescendingly by shop assistant. Not only did she not know what I was asking of her, but she also didn't know what she was trying to tell me and eventually asked me to call back on Monday morning, after wasting 12 valuable minutes of my time.
I am dumbfounded as to why this type of people would be hired to support your customers in store, let alone be allowed to take calls even though they lack customer service, never mind basic telephone etiquette. Surely you have the resources to train these ones better.
