Refuse to replace shoes

I bought a pair of Nike zoom Vomero at the end of December. I use them strictly for road running (20km per week), but due to the rain in the area i do occasionally run through a puddle. The sole started to peel off and has come loose completely. I returned them to Sportsmans Warehouse where i bought them and according to them they will not be replaced because it looks like i went trail running as there is dirt under the shoe. All shoes will have dirt under them at some stage. I find this totally unacceptable.
