Appliance stops working in just under 6 months

I bought a Salton iron is Septemeber and this past week it stopped working. It didnt fall or burn or anything, it just went cold, the staff at the hardware store cannot pick up anything wrong with it.
I know since I did not keep the reciept, you will not take it back or fix it, but I just want to express my disappointment. I could have decided to buy an iron off the street or at a cheaper store, but i decided on Makro and on this brand (Salton). Clearly I was mistaken
