I purchased a 2tb Toshiba harddrive at Makro Ottery on 20 January 2011. 6 months later it packed up and i took it through to Makro where I dealt with the most unhellpfull of customer service people ever. Firstly they cross questioned me as to what happend with the harddrive and then after my interogation was done referred me to Candice Williams, their customer service manager. I explained to her that my work IT people tried to reload the sofware from the website and they interpreted that I opened the hardrive. Eventually they booked in the drive and apparently sent it away to their supplier, Mustek who according to Makro sent back a note stating that the drive was opened. After numerous fights with both their Cape Gate and Ottery stores, i decided to go directly to Mustek and behold, a week later they replaced my harddrive. Now the questions i have is that Makro firstly made false accusations that I and opened the harddrive when they in turn never even sent it to be looked at. It just goes to show, that customer service and customer satisfaction for Makro has gone completely out of the window due to rotten apples like Candice Williams and her staff
