Was given silver instead of gold

On the 14th of December 2012 i walked into American Swiss Fourways mall looking for an engagement ring. I looked around the store and found a ring I liked. The assistant Patricia Mahlasela told me that the ring was white gold with diamonds and a saffire stone. She said that for the price it was well worth it and I agreed as getting the gold with diamonds would be perfect for an engagement ring. When she rang the ring up i asked for a guarantee on the ring, to which she gave me a guarantee card stating the number of stones and its authentication, but where it said "metal type" all she put was a code. i asked about the code and she said it was the code for WHITE GOLD.
I returned to have the ring resized only to find out that the ring was infact SILVER and not WHITE GOLD. All they could say was sorry and that the assistant that helped me was a trainee and didnt know. I was told a regional/area manager would contact me, which did not happen until I had to contact them. Shenaaz later contact me and passed me onto Nola another regional manager who now wants to offer me a 20% discount on another ring after telling me to chose a new ring and she would arrange no extra costs are added.
