I'm always impressed by the great service offered by Exclusive Books stores in general, but tonight Kgomotso (Menlyn branch) raised the bar to a level that will be difficult to beat.

'She had me with her warm smile and patience as I fumbled around for my loyalty card number, but it was what ensued once I spotted the little Yoda package on the counter that had me completely sold on her. It was the last remaining box and I was contemplating how to investigate its contents without ruining the neatly sealed package (what if I wanted to buy it as a gift after delving into it, you see?). Not only did Kgomotso guarantee she could re-seal the box exactly the way I found it (with the magic sealing machine in the back office), but while enjoying a 'Who's the coolest Star Wars character? ' debate in response to my plea for help in ascertaining whether this was a cool enough gift for a Star Wars fanatic, she found the perfect balance between respecting the customer and stepping into an appropriate personable space.

Today's been a difficult one for me, and Kgomotso was a huge part in ensuring it ended with a smile.
