Manager Disappeared

On this specific day I was with my mother who was buying groceries for the weekend. She was going to buy chicken braai packs. However when we got to the till the cashier pointed out that one of the braai packs had toenail packaging and also mentioned that is past its sell by date which was 31/01/2014.We then checked the rest of the chicken that we had bought which was also past sell by date. I went back to the fridge to exchange the packs and found all of them to be expired. During this time the manager Stan Weinen was informed who was standing near by the till we were at and he promptly disappeared when I started asking about what the policy on goods passed sell by date. None of the staff could tell me this information or if a policy of this nature existed. Disgusted at the fact that a "manager" would leave his junior staff to deal with customers in such a situation. To top it off they tried to blame the gentleman who packed and labelled the chicken all while Stan was in hiding. I left the store still with no answers or assurance that this should not happen.
