MARKED DOWN IEMS NOT MARKED

On friday the 31 January 2013 I went to a Edgars store here in Brits, the items were marked 30% OFF... When I got to the till it was not marked..They refused to give me the item with the marked price they said it was not on sale..Why did they mark the item 30% OFF whereas it was not on special??? Is it how Edgars operates now??? Marking the items but when you get to the till its not the price they claim it to be??? I needed that item thats y I took it
