Recently I've been receiving SMS's from Edgars demanding payment of my account "URGENTLY IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN A POSITIVE PAYMENT RECORD", even though my instalment is paid in full. I don't appreciate being treated like a "bad" customer whose payments are always late because that is most certainly NOT the case with me.
Another incident I want to mention is that I had a stroke 4 years ago and was hospitalised for over 2 months - during which time I was paralysed and lost my speech. My sister called all my creditors and explained the situation to them. Everyone was understanding and agreed to honour the Account Protection policies that I had on the accounts. Everyone except Edgars that is. They refused to honour the policy and claimed that only in the event of "PERMANENT DISABILITY" would they write off the amount due. I was horrified! Id just suffered a life-changing illness and I'd lost my job so I had no income at the time. They immediately blacklisted me and I had to take a loan to repay them. I had a spotless credit record but thanks to Edgars that was ruined. I requested the ACP to be cancelled but to date I'm still being billed for it. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed.
