Attitude of staff will cause loss in customers

I am a regular customer at Tony's Meat. Today I walked in, and the cashier told me very rudely (in front of the other staff) that I must leave my shopping bag at the front of the shop with the cashiers. I asked her "Don't you trust me? ", as this is the first time that I have EVER had to do this. She went on to say that it's the company policy. I should have asked her why she never mentioned it before. I went and got a basket, and got what I needed. When I got to her, she continued her rude attitude, and said "Shame, is that all that you got? Why did you then take a basket? " I had only taken one item, and told her that the other produce wasn't as good as I had hoped. I paid her, and I could then see other staff members looking at me and laughing. I felt so embarrassed. If this cashier (whose name I don't know) carries on like this, Tony's Meat WILL lose customers.
