No more free item when price scans highe

I recently visisted the new Pick 'n Pay Local Store in Monte Vista. They advertised the All Gold Tomato Sauce on the led display at R13.90. When I got to the till, the price scanned higher, over R14.00. I asked that the sales person go check the price on the led display but they insisted the price that rang up was correct. To avoid having people wait behind me I paid the price and finished my transaction. The lady then went to the shelf and confirmed that it was in fact less and not what I paid. When I made the comment that the item should now be free (as per PnP policy), I was informed that PnP has done away with that policy. There was no further communication and I ended up leaving the store paying the price that the product rang up at. Very bad service for a new store that only opened in the past two months. Won't be visiting them again, will continue to support what used to be the Spar.
