I purcahsed a wedding ring on 20 July 2013 which was also resized by the same store. on 3 January 2014 we noticed a crack on the wedding band which is a neat one suggesting that this may be where they had cut the ring to resize it. on 4 January we took the ring back to the store to report the crack (in fact a breakage as it cut through the wedding band). they have completely denied liability and after sending it for a test their answer is that the ring has broken because it has been worn more than once and therefore it is as a result of wear and tear and therefore our fault. i cannot understand this because a ring is meant to be worn all the time not only once and be put away. with the people at the store we have confirmed that the ring has no scratches, no dents and not deformed in any way but they cannot explain what could cause the breakage from being worn on the finger. their policy states that where there is a defect suggesting a manufacturing fault, it can be returned within 6 months, this ring is only 5 months old. if their rings are capable of unexplained easy breakages, i don't want their ring fixed they must take it back.
