Lacking in Customer Service

On Sunday, 03 February 2013, my husband and I walked into the Hush Puppy store at Cresta mall. The time was 14h45. As we walked in we were greeted by a lady who was screaming and shouting in Afrikaans that the stored is closed and that it was time to go home and that they were done for the day and everything is finished. I ignored her ranting. Both ladies ignored us and carried on setting shelves. When my husband picked up a sandal, the lady who had made her announcements disappeared into the back. He then asked the other sales lady to confirm the price of the sandal and enquired if they have a bigger size. She only remarked that it was a size 7 he was holding and that the price was on the shelf. Too much of an effort to check for the correct size, she went into the back for about a maximum of 5 seconds and returned saying no other size. Both ladies were rude and unpleasant. Is it too much to smile at a customer? This was disappointing service from a store we held in high regard. Maybe paying customers have expectations which are just too high. Needless to say we were out of the store before 15h00 which is the actual time they close their doors.
