Online shopping, worst retail experience ever!

Placed a fairly large online order of Christmas gifts on the 18th, selected delivery on the 23rd. Got an email late on the 22nd to say my order was delayed, no further info. Called the helpline, got sent for pillar to post, waiting ages on the line. Eventually dealt directly with store involved (Cavendish), late on the 23rd they inform me that less than a third of my order is in stock. Great, so I have to go shopping for what I cannot get not eh evening of the 23rd, when the point of online shopping was to avoid the crowds! They promise to have the items they do have on the first shipment in the morning, which leaves at 7:30. It is after 11am, and still no delivery. I have spent most of the morning on the phone with various people trying to find out where my delivery is. What a waste of time. Just found out that my parcel is with the couriers. Sounds like it has gone around the peninsula, when I work 5 mins from the Cavendish store. They really need to sort out their systems. Something is very wrong with their stock management and logistics. Ridiculous. Their helpline says "it's shopping, just easier". Biggest joke of the year!
