Promised a discount and never got it

On the 12th of December 2013 I got an SMS from Edgar's saying that if I buy for more than R1 500.00 I will get a R300.00 discount when I show them an SMS with my code sent to me before the 16th of December 2013. I went and bought for R2 000.00 and when I requested for my discount and showed them an SMS, I was told by the Manager by the name of Zane that they cannot give me a discount because most of the items I bought are on sale. I told him that an SMS does not say that and told him that on that day nearly all the items in Edgar's are on sale until the 16th. Why do they send such SMS, s then? He was just arrogant and did not even bother to explain anything to me. I asked him to fix this because I'm sure I'm not the only customer who got this SMS. He told me again that he is not going to give me my R300.00 off. He was not even apologetic on this matter or even show any concern. I've been buying in Edgar's since I was at Tertiary in 1996 and now I am a Manager in Eskom and I've never missed a payment and to be treated like this is disgusting. When I left the shop one of the Managers by the name of Glen promised to call me back when I told him my story and to date no call from him.
