Incredible Connection
Charging for Bags - profitering

Shops, Products, Services

I recently purchased a speaker system (2013/12/18) at your Clear Water branch. When at the check out, I was ask if we wanted a plastic bag. We did want a plastic bag to carry the goods we had recently purchased. However, we were at no point told that there was a charge for the bags - there is also only 1 size.

1.) the bag cost 70c - I was not offered a choice of size and a much smaller would've catered for the size of goods leaving the store.
2.) the cost of bags was introduced for stores/consumers to pay a levy to the government. Allowing the building of recycling plants. This however only applies to retailers who are supplying food. So that means that Incredible Connection is under no obligation pay any percentage over for this levy.

I would like to see what would happen if you had to put up a sign in your store that says the following.
"Although we charge you for bags, we don't not give a percentage to the government to build recycling plants - we instead use the 70c to increase our profits"

Company: Incredible Connection
Country: South Africa
City: Clear Water
