Returns policy rip-off at Incredible Connection

We bought a Microsoft wireless mouse from Incredible Connection at Cresta on Thursday10/10/2013 for R500. The mouse did not work on the computer which we have and returned it on Sunday 13/10/2013. The mouse was packaged in a heat sealed rigid plastic cover, the only way to access it was to cut open the plastic. To our dismay we were confronted with the return policy " If the goods are no longer sealed or in the original packaging, a reasonable amount may be charged for the use of the goods or for restoration costs to render the goods fit for re-stocking."

It cost R75-00, 15%, for that which is outrageous and exorbitant.

We've been shopping at Incredible as an IT shop of first choice for over a decade having spent tens of thousands of rands with them for excellent products, service and support.

Sadly we will now shop at Incredible as a shop of last resort and then only if we are absolutely sure of the product we buy from them is indeed fit for purpose - in which case it must be proved in their store before we pay.

If Incredible Connection has to have such a policy then they should ensure that the products they sell are indeed capable of being returned in the original packaging
