Not fixing the problem

During 2010/05/29 I bought a byDesign 32" LED TV (STY1232) from Hifi Corporation. At the same time I also bought an extended warranty agreement for an additional two years. The past two months the TV starting switching off while the power indicator (blue) was still lit. When the TV is actually off, the power indicator is red. Yet the screen just dies without sound while one is watching. As I still had a warranty I took the TV to the nearest Hifi Corporation. I specifically indicated to them that they need to do the tests on the HDMI ports, as these where the ones that caused the display to die.
Within 10 days I was contacted again and the TV was returned. Guess what... within an hour the TV switched off again... guess what again... they did not even touch the HDMI ports... in fact... they do not even have HDMI testing equipment within their stores... So I assume that they will only be playing ping-pong with the "bring your TV in so that we can send it away and not really repair your problem... just until your extended warranty expires, and then we will give you the real price for repairing your TV"...
