Bad Quality

I had a friend buy me a backpack baby bag while I was still pregnant last year, which, of course, I only started to use once baby was born towards the end of last year.
A couple of days ago, as I picked up the bag, the buckle which holds the shoulder straps (the one's you use to make the straps longer or shorter), broke in half. Therefore, the bag is now useless!! The entire reason I have a backpack style baby bag is so it's not just on one shoulder, which would be the only way I would be bale to use this bag now. When I returned it to the store, they told me it's out of the system and can only give me 1 cents for it!!! WHAT???
The entire reason I shop at Woolworths, and got the bag there, is because they normally have such good quality, or if the quality is inferior, they make a plan to get it sorted out. I am very upset by this, and will definitely review what items I now buy from woolworths. To have my friend spend such a big amount on a bag that lasted me a few months only is very sad.
