Lost card, replaced, points transferred - fabulous

My Kid lost the smart shopper card, as kids do. She finally told me, & I went & got a new one, points were transferred to new card, all done expediently, well done Pick 'n Pay!
HOWEVER - Entirely MY FAULT - I FORGOT to put the new smart shopper card onto DISCOVERY REWARDS, sadness.
I received a Discovery sms telling me they couldnt allocate points - invalid SS card. I called Pick 'n Pay, very helpful, however ONLY DISCOVERY CAN FIX THIS.
I called, spoke to Mangaliso (call 3092548115), they can see 3150 'unallocated' points but he says its my fault I didnt update the number, nothing they can do END. Got a good LECTURE from him, interrupted me a few times to do that!
They have NO PROCEDURE to deal with this? Points are MONEY, & MONEY is important. Its not a reward if you dont have a BACK PLAN, CREATE a business process to cater for this omission. I cant be the first to forget to do this surely?
For the next 2 months, I will use ONLY MY STD BANK CCARD (protest) at Discovery LACK OF PROCESSES & FLEXIBILITY, & consequently no incentive to shop @ PICK 'n PAY - I can use Checkers!
PnP, this partner of yours has gaping errors in their reward system - get them to fix this
